In the September/October issue of New England Hotel Magazine, there is an article on how hotel blogging has reached New England. A profile of Juli Lederhaus, the GM at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, Mass. (which must be pretty busy these days! One can only imagine the month of October in a town famous for witchcraft!), and her blog for the hotel is described.
The article mentions that Juli and her team use the blog to have a “voice to talk to their guests”. The Hawthorne Daily Dairy is a more personal view of the hotel. In a similar way, we hope our blog becomes an insider view of our Ogunquit hotel and of Ogunquit. Many of you are frequent visitors to the Meadowmere and have such great stories to share. Some of our personal favorite’s come from our 21st Anniversay Guest Book:
“Thanks for being such a great hotel. I get to see my pen pal in February here! And that is the only time I get to see her. So thanks for being here!” – Samantha, February 2004
“Thanks for our little getaway to no-where this past week! Very relaxing and enjoyable. By the way, wish we could be here in March for our friend’s 50th, but we will be in Boston. But we will be here in spirit! Happy B-day! (For when he reads this). P.S – was in Aruba this past summer and met a ‘Meadowmere’ couple from NY city. Fun to think about the Meadowmere while in Aruba! See you in the Summer!” – Michelle, February 2004
and one of the best . . .
“We have been coming to the Meadowmere for about fifteen years. We do try to get here at least twice a year! Our daughter and husband, their daughter and her husband and baby! So you have four generations. We have enjoyed every minute spent here. The staff is most helpful. Thank you so much for everything.” – John and Judith, April 2004
So it would seem best to bring back the Anniversay Guest book as we prepare for our 25th Anniversary at our Ogunquit hotel. We can’t wait to hear more stories of your memories – and be sure to share pictures with us for our hotel blog!
