Stu’s Review . . . Brunch at Five-O Restaurant

We had heard a rumor that Five-O was going to beginning offering Sunday brunch. ‘Really?’ We thought. ‘You mean breakfast will once again be served at 50 Shore Rd – just like when it was the Shore Road Cafe?’ Good things do come back! So naturally, Stu was on the case – or rather, ready to eat . . .

The ambiance is classy – with beautiful white linens and an open, bright dining room. A little urban flair and certainly not a lobster buoy to be found. For dinner, it’s a sophisticated atmosphere and even though it’s at the other end of the day, the feeling carries over for brunch. And in fact, accent by the quiet jazz combo playing to the brunch diners.

The menu for the brunch had many nice offerings – of which the Stu’s choice was eggs Benedict. The meal was very good – However, the corned beef hash was the super star. One of the best ever. Complimented by the great service. The server, Josh, was accommodating, informative, and provided everything in a timely manner – key when one is serving eggs.

With the elegant atmosphere and brunch offerings, the Five-O brunch is a great take for couples (Families may want to stay clear – the kid offerings are missing and the glassware is long stemmed). The brunch would be a nice fit for a romantic getaway.

Overall, a Stu’s review of 4 of 5 for the brunch!
