This week’s stories!
February School Vacation week is here! The pool is full and the game room is a rockin’. We’re hearing rumors of 50 degree weather in Ogunquit this weekend. We just know under all that snow, Spring is ready to come out and play. Did you know Barnacle Billy’s will open in less than 8 weeks? Steamers and rum punch are just around the corner!
- A guest had just completed her booking the night before and was arriving the following day to join us in one of our Luxury Jacuzzi suites. The getaway was a special occasion and she was insistent that there be red roses in the room. Kyle was happy to assist the guest with the in room gift – however, the regular florist was not open to prepare the bouquet. Rather than disappoint the guest, Kyle called local florists until finding one to fulfill the order. As the reservation was to arrive on a Sunday, sole florist able to create a rose bouquet would be closed that day – the flowers would need to arrive a day early. Kyle handled all the details and cleared space for the bouquet in refrigerator to insure that the roses would arrive in perfect condition.
- While working in the evening, Sheila received a call from a guest room. The guests were headed to bed but had concerns that their sheets were not fresh. Sheila instantly said she would be right done to replace all of the linens for them – regardless. They had to be comfortable and she was happy to make sure they visibly saw the bed freshly made.
- Often the front desk is where guests ask for recommendations on restaurants, activities and details about Ogunquit and the local area. One this occasion, Janet encountered a guest curious about places to eat lunch in downtown Ogunquit – they had tried the previous day, but could not find parking. Janet offered several suggestions and noted landmarks to find the parking lots closest to the dining options.
- On his way to assist a housekeeper, Ritt noticed an elderly gentleman struggling with his luggage. Ritt immediately changed course and assist the man to his car with his bags without a second thought.
