ServiceStories-March7,2011

This week’s stories!

We’re a day behind this week for sharing our service stories – there was some technical difficulty with the blog about our Ogunquit hotel. Maybe it is the Ides of March starting early – or maybe we just had too much fun with all the guests this past weekend. It was a packed house for our Friday Wine Welcome!

So what’s happening in March in Ogunquit? We just finished Mardi Gras – next up: St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on a Full Moon! Great light to dance a jig by! And if you’ve given up chocolate, treat your sweet tooth to Maine Maple weekend6. Homemade syrup and maple goodies. Spring is sweet!

  • The Meadowmere is a fairly large hotel and while everyone gets a map upon arrival, new guests often have lots of questions about where amenities and rooms are. Matt was making his rounds checking on the common areas of the resort, when he noticed guests who seemed lost. They were in the parking lot, confused about the next step. Matt helped them locate the best parking spot for them and asked if this was their first time at the Meadowmere. Upon learning that it was, he let the guest know not to worry – he would show them to their room and help with the luggage. The guest was very grateful – after a long trip, the vacation was underway.
  • While attending to a guest’s room, Janet happened to notice that the couple was celebrating an anniversary. She made sure to wish them a Happy Anniversary personally and see if they needed any help with a restaurant to celebrate at. After providing some recommendations, the couple went on their way. Janet created kissing swans to be a nice surprise when they returned to the suite.
  • During the middle of the night, a gentleman called to make a reservation. It was very late and he had many questions, but Jack was happy to help. After describing the different choices for the guest’s family vacation, the guest was ready to go with a resort room – when Jack noticed that the Family Suite was a great value for the same dates and would give a separate room for the kids. After learning about the suite, the guest was very appreciative that Jack listened to his needs and found the best accommodations.
