This week’s stories!

Well, actually, story. We had so many happy campers this past weekend at the Meadowmere, that this blog could have been a long one. Instead, we picked our favorite to share with you. So as we leap forward in time, it’s one step closer to Spring in Ogunquit and mud season mania – when the temps go up, but not the prices. Spring is the sweet spot in Maine!

  • Many of our guests dream of having an in room Jacuzzi – and for a lot of them, that dream come true with our Jacuzzi Suite choices: King Jacuzzi, Luxury Jacuzzi & Fireplace and Presidential Suites. However, sometimes those Jacuzzi prove a little difficult to operate. One evening, Sheila received such a call. The guest in a Presidential Suite could not fill the tub – the drain kept popping up. Being familiar with the Jacuzzi, Sheila explained over the phone and then offered to visit to show the guest. Upon arriving to the room and closing the drain, Sheila climbed into the tub to inspect the drain – the guest was not convinced that the seal would hold. Seeing that he was concerned about using the tub and apprehensive about using it, she asked him to wait a minute and she would return. Rather than have the guest disappointed in the suite, Sheila arranged to have an additional Jacuzzi Suite available to use during their stay, making the guest feel comfortable during his stay.

“The service we render to others is really the rent we pay for our room on this earth. It is obvious that man is himself a traveler; that the purpose of this world is not ‘ to have and to hold’ but ‘to give and serve’. There can be no other meaning.” Sir Wilfred T. Grenfell

Thank you for letting us share this week’s service stories with you. Each week we hope our little differences help bring a smile to you face – remember, service is not dead. It just took a vacation to Maine!
