This week’s stories!
Mom’s Day is almost here! Kentucky Derby, Southern Maine AIDS Walk, Sunday Brunches and Taylor Hicks live at Jonathan’s – Ogunquit is springing to life. Thanks to everyone who’s joined us on a Marginal Way Stay or a Hospitality for Habitat getaway. It was our pleasure to give you 50% for your donation. If you haven’t visited in awhile, there’s still time – good stays, doing good are available thru May 26. Ogunquit is waiting!
- In addition to over 50 fitness machines, steam, sauna and spa treatments, the Meadowmere Health Club offers tanning too. After all, Ogunquit is one of the Top Beach according to Trip Advisor – gotta have a tan! Jeremy was on his way to assist a guest with tanning when he noticed that the Roman Spa jets were not on, despite several guests in the amenity area. He figured that someone had accidentally hit the emergency off button. Before the guests could call to ask for help, Jeremy reset the system and headed off to the Fitness Center, leaving a hot tub of bubbles and happy guests.
- Maine is a funny place in the spring. One day a little too hot for some, the next a little too cool for others. At the hotel, we’ve come to believe that this leads to over packing – a sweater here and t-shirts there. Matt came up such guests struggling to bring their very large bags into the resort. Matt helped them bring everything to their room, including up onto the luggage racks and then cheerful wished them a great stay.
- One of the most concerning feelings a guest can have is losing something very important when away from home. One such guest reported their wallet had disappeared to the front desk, who promptly checked with the Lost and Found and took all of his details to alert the staff. Afterwards, the guest headed back to his room for another look and encountered Janet cleaning his room. She helped him look under and around everything but nothing appeared. After helping the guest retrace his steps, all the way to his car, his wallet was found – waiting in the console of his car the whole time. Phew!
“Here is a simple but powerful rule – always give people more than what they expect to get.” -Nelson Boswell
