This week’s stories!

Wow! Memorial Day weekend was jumping in Ogunquit! Thanks to everyone for a great summer kick off. Our hotel is excited to see the calendar turn to June. With the Fine Living Festival, World Ocean Weekend and the launch of our new Sky’s the Limit Getaway, Meadowmere is ready for the season. We’re looking forward to seeing many of our friends return and have to share a huge thank you to all of our Meadowmere family – our Ogunquit hotel was given the distinction of a Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor for outstanding service. What a way to welcome summer!

  • A hotel is a home away from home. The atmosphere at the Meadowmere is one of a family friendly, relaxed hotel. And we know that little things make a big difference in comfort. Janet was servicing a guest room during their stay and noticed that the guests had slept backwards in the bed. In other words, heads where feet go, feet where heads go – probably to be closest to the window. Janet remade the bed to face the opposite way – pillows and all. Later the guest sought her out and thanked her for such attention to detail.
  • While at the desk, David noticed a guest fiddling with his glasses. After asking the guest if he needed any help and learning that his glasses were broken, David helped fixed them. The guest was amazed that David had saved the day!
  • Mid-afternoon, a guest called down curious as to why their room had not yet received service. Crystal immediately noticed that there was a miscommunication on touching up the room for the day and apologized. She headed straight up and serviced the room. In addition, she noticed that the guests could use real glasses for their whiskey and that they had several maps of the area, but were missing a vacation guide on Ogunquit. Crystal set up the glasses and guidebook in the room with a note thanking them for their understanding and wishing them a wonderful stay.

Thank you for letting us share this week’s service stories with you. Each week we hope our little differences help bring a smile to your face – remember, service is not dead. It just took a vacation to Maine!
