This week’s stories!
Heat wave! There is nothing as refreshing as a dip in the cool ocean after basking in the sun; Ogunquit has had its fair share of scorching summer days this week. It is hard to believe that it is already the third week in July, this summer is rolling by much too fast, come and enjoy some fun in the sun. Don’t forget that the Made in Maine Festival is right around the corner.
- Hotel key cards can be fickle, we advise our guests to keep their keys away from anything with a magnetic charge to avoid deactivation. Two of our guests had just returned from exploring the Ogunquit area, upon returning to their room they realized that their key cards would not work. Beverly noticed the guest in the hallway and asked if she could be of any assistance. She verified with the front desk that the guests were at the correct room and let them in. She then requested that the front desk bring new keys to the guests so they would not need to venture from their room and could relax after their walk along the Marginal Way.
- Pocket change can get heavy after awhile. A guest was packing up and getting ready to head home after a restful stay in one of our Luxury Suites. Janet noticed that the guest was lugging a bag of nickels that he had acquired from all of his rides on the trolley. She offered to change the nickels into bills so that he didn’t have to carry them home with him.
- It is certainly no fun getting sick while on vacation. Katie received a call at the front desk that one of our guests would like to extend her stay as her son was not feeling well enough to travel. She extended the guest’s stay and brought up extended key cards and paperwork so that guest would not have to leave her sick son.
- Sheila had just finished checking in a repeat guest when the guest contacted her to see if there were accommodations available in a different location. She noticed that the guest had stayed in one of our Country Squire accommodations and really enjoyed their stay. She showed them two different accommodations that were available and advised the guest that she had the same room available that they had stayed in during a previous stay. Guest chose to move to a room in our Country Squire where they had stayed previously and were very happy that Sheila took the time to show them different options. She also made note of guest’s preferences for future visits.
