This week’s stories!

Ahhh smell that refreshing ocean air, with the rain we have had lately the smells of spring are in the air, and everything smells brand new. What are your favorite scents of spring? It’s almost here! The official kick-off to the Summer Season! Have you made your Memorial Weekend plans yet? Don’t forget that soon the dog days of summer will be upon us, don’t be left out in the dog house book your vacation early!

  • Brandon was exiting the East Meadow Building when he noticed a guest in the connector doorway who seemed hesitate about venturing out into the rain. He greeted the guest and inquired if he could be of any help, the guest admitted that she wasn’t looking forward to walking to Jonathan’s for breakfast in the rain. He offered to retrieve an umbrella from the front desk for her to use, the guest gladly accepted. He quickly returned with the umbrella and the guest was delighted that she didn’t have to get all soggy on her walk to breakfast.
  • Sheila had baked a Strawberry Rhubarb pie for one of our major repeat guests. The guest was delighted at the homemade dessert but unfortunately she is allergic to strawberries. She told Sheila it was the “thought that counts” and was still very touched by Sheila’s hospitality. Shelia made sure to note that the guest was allergic to strawberries and promised she would bake her an Maine apple pie for her next visit.
  • Sunshine is good for you! After a few days of rain we had a guest who wanted to enjoy the sun’s rays and lounge in the courtyard. They approached Crystal and asked if there were chairs in the courtyard yet, she advised the guest that there were and thinking of the last few days of rain asked the guest to give her one moment so that she could dry off the chairs for the guest to use.
