This week’s stories!
August may be over but there is still plenty of nice weather to enjoy in Ogunquit! The sand is still warm and so is the water so dive in and make your splash today. Back by popular demand it’s our dinning package, come Eat, Drink and Be Merry!
- Allergies are no fun, especially when it limits the food you can eat. Genine was replenishing the breakfast offerings when a guest inquired if there was anymore coffee cake besides what was already on the buffet. The guest explained that her daughter had an extreme allergy to peanuts and really wanted a piece of the coffee cake but was unable to enjoy it due the contamination of the other offerings which contained peanuts. Genine went to the kitchen to retrieve a piece of fresh coffee cake from the baking pan, she put on gloves, got a new knife and a fresh plate and delivered the yummy cake to the young guest.
- All I need is place to rest my weary bones, Sheila received a heartfelt call from a guest who was looking to take her elderly mother away on a road trip. The guest explained that this would be her mother’s first outing since losing her father and it was important that everything was just right. The guest wanted a big comfy chair for her mother to rest in after their excursions around town. The guest’s mother also just under went hip surgery and she preferred to sleep sitting. Sheila coordinated with the housekeeping supervisors so that a wing-back chair could be placed into the guests room and she could enjoy her stay.
- What does your mother always tell you? Don’t leave wet towels on the bed. Ashley was cleaning a stay over room when she noticed that the guest had left their soaking wet towels from the pool on the bed, this was surely an oversight and mom would be displeased when they returned to find their towels had also dampened the bed. Ashley changed all the bedding and left a fresh stack of pool towels on the end of the bed for their next trip to the pool.
