This Week’s Stories!

Did you know that Maine is the Pine Tree State? That’s right Maine has the biggest population of pine trees and the white pine cone is actually our state flower. Winter unlocks the magic in Ogunquit, the ocean is a beautiful slate blue and the cardinals return to nests along the Marginal Way, with winter’s first snow approaching what a wonderful sight to see. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, what’s in your stocking hope you were a good boy or girl this year and someone stuffed it with gift certificates from the Meadowmere! Come enjoy our winter wonderland!

  • Now that amore! One of our guest called down to request two wine glasses and two sets of
silverware as they were going to pick up some Italian at a local eatery. Tracy retrieved silverware and glasses from the pub as well as napkins and plates. The guest had requested that the items be left in the room for their return so she set up the plates and glasses on the table as well as a candle and a book of matches so that they could have a romantic candle lit dinner in their room.
  • Better than a pager. Janet knocked on the door of one of our stay over guests to clean their room, guest advised that they were going downstairs and would return when she was finished. Janet cleaned their room and then went down to the first level to find the guests. She found them in the tea room and advised that their room was ready for them. The guests were very impressed with her customer focus and for cleaning their room not only in a timely fashion but then seeking them out to let them know they could return to relax in their room.
  • We are happy to assist even when guests are looking for accommodations in other vacation spots, our team is very knowledgeable on many different locations in Maine and happy to give advise and travel tips whenever we can. Sheila received a call from one of our repeat guests who was making her travel arrangements for next summer and had booked her trip to the Meadowmere but was looking for a great spot further north. Sheila suggested a wonderful place in Bar Harbor and advised guest of locations to stay and personal opinions from her travels to the area.
