This Week’s Stories!

This weekend commences Harvestfest, yet another reason to come to our Maine family vacation resort! Harvestfest is known for its live bands and performers, local food vendors, marketplace vendors, and local crafters. Part of the weekend is dedicated to Kidsfest that includes pony rides, games, pumpkin carving, face painting, and horse-drawn wagon rides. Don’t miss out on the celebrations this weekend!

•   One of our housekeepers, Janet, was folding laundry when a guest asked her for an ice bucket. Janet mentioned that there should be one in the room but that just in case she would bring an extra to their room. The guest mentioned they were drinking champagne, so Janet wisely got him a silver ice bucket from the pub, filled it with ice, and added champagne glasses to be delivered to the room.

•   Sheila, a front desk agent, called the desk saying that she tried purchasing a coke from the machine in the East Meadow building but could not get it. The guest went to Jonathan’s to get change as the machine would not take dollar bills. However, after getting change the machine would still not release a drink. Sheila immediately went over to assist the guest. She brought a coke over when meeting her and the guest was extremely happy at the unnecessary ordeal it became.

•   Josh, one of our runners, was approached by a guest having difficulties with their heat. Josh instantly realized they needed the new batteries for the thermostat and resolved the issue.

“Merely satisfying customers will not be enough to earn their loyalty. Instead, they must experience exceptional service worthy of their repeat business and referral. Understand the factors that drive this customer revolution.” – Rick Tate

Thank you for letting us share this week’s service stories with you. Each week we hope our little differences help bring a smile to your face – remember, service is not dead. It just took a vacation to Maine!
