This Week’s Stories!

This weather has been one for the books. Many guests, new or returning, camped out at our Southern Maine Resort when the huge snow storm Hercules hit. People had lost power or were on the road with extremely limited vision. Everyone was able to enjoy themselves once they arrived here-a nice heated pool and indoor jacuzzi. Some even braved going down to the outdoor hot tub while it was snowing! Now everyone must hunker down and stay inside while those freezing temperatures continue to hit us.

• Guests were celebrating their anniversary and our housekeeper Janet noticed this the day before their arrival. She went to the grocery store before her shift and bought a box of chocolates and anniversary card to put in their room. Janet placed the gifts in their room in addition to swan towels.

• Guests approached Whitney, a housekeeper of ours, looking for a bathing suit that fell from their balcony into the closed off outdoor pool area. Whitney advised the couple she would do her best to retrieve the item. Whitney cleverly went to the room below and successfully got the suit, bringing it back to the owner.

“Here is a simple but powerful rule: Always give people more than what they expect to get.” – Nelson Boswell

Thank you for letting us share this week’s service stories with you. Each week we hope our little differences help bring a smile to your face – remember, service is not dead. It just took a vacation to Maine!
