Only a few days left in this beloved month! As July comes to an end at our Ogunquit Maine resort we’re reminded how quickly time passes. It seems only yesterday the Independence Day celebrations brought visitor from all over to experience Ogunquit Maine’s famous fireworks display. Although the weather wasn’t so cooperative on the 4th our guests found escape from the rain combined with relaxation at our Ogunquit Maine resort in the Indoor Pool and of course the Roman Spa! A short stroll from our Ogunquit Maine resort on July 5th leads to Ogunquit beach where fireworks paired with entertainment as the DJ was found spinning tunes before and after the show! A thrilling weekend for all in spite of of the weather!
The Billy Elliot production shined at the Ogunquit Playhouse this month as the creative team reorganized this technically complex Broadway production to fit Ogunquit Maine’s intimate theatre. The audience’s hearts were touched as they felt every emotion running through the music and dance of this remarkable cast and crew. Jonathan’s Concert Series brought many talents to Ogunquit Maine this July with performers such as Seth Glier, Maggie Rose, Noel Paul Stookey, Jonathan Edwards, Kate Taylor and the oh so humorous Paula Poundstone. What a wonderful month it has been with the perfect beach weather during the day and the cool breeze at night just right for strolling around the unique shops of Ogunquit Maine!
As we say good bye to July, August brings many more exciting days of summer. Soon the Ogunquit Playhouse will kick off their production of Mary Poppins. Jonathan’s is up to it again with a number of concerts including Robin Spielberg, Ben Taylor and my favorite Bob Marley (you may have seen him on Late Night with Conan O’Brien or the Tonight Show with Jay Leno) so be sure to book your premier ticket now!
At our Ogunquit Maine resort we’re always sad to say good bye, but as the months fly by we find comfort in knowing so many familiar faces will return soon to visit our year round resort. Our attentive staff aims at welcoming each guest with genuine Maine Hospitality. Here are a few stories they’ve shared…
Janet, a well seasoned housekeeper, observed some guests that always seemed to have coffee in their hands. Like many of us with a caffeine addiction Janet knew the importance of convenience to such things and offered them additional coffee packets for their in room coffee maker. They were so surprised and pleased at this offering as it would allow them to enjoy a few cups on their private balcony before heading down for their complimentary breakfast!
Ethan, a member of our maintenance team, was inspecting the grounds when he noticed a couple carrying wine from the pub to their room. Whoops the glass slipped right out of the guests hand shattering on her toe. Ethan immediately ran over to see if she was ok, he made sure she got the cut cleaned up and bandaged right away. She was grateful for the compassion and assistance!
Bryanna is new to our housekeeping team and still learning her way around. She noticed a guest had completed a comment in one of the rooms she was cleaning. The guest was disappointed that they didn’t have a night light or a rubber mat from the tub. Unsure how to solve this she reached out to a co-worker Trisha – who showed her just where to find these things. The guests were very thankful!
