Coming up this week in Ogunquit in August - we are looking forward to the 41th Annual Sidewalk Art Show & Sale on the 21st.  The streets of our charming Maine village will be lined with talented local artists come and explore the fine arts of Ogunquit.  Often our Ogunquit Hotel finds treasures for our hotel rooms and hope you’ll find a few to take home. And for the collectors, the week ends with Art by the Sea Gala at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. Unique experiences and beautiful art by famous names such as John Laurent and Donald Jurney. When planning a trip to Ogunquit at our hotel for this week, carve out some time to enjoy the art!

In this past week, with a full house, our staff showed off their Maine Hospitality - after all, good service is a work of art too. Here are a few of their stories:

A guest, in need of a wheel chair for his Ogunquit vacation, stopped at the front desk for assistance.  He thought that he had ordered the wheel chair from a local providerin advance and wasn’t sure why it never arrived.  Lauren, knowing the importance of this guest need to enjoy his vacation, quickly called the company to find out what had gone wrong.  She spent over 20 minutes on the phone trying to figure it out and ensuring they rushed the delivery to our Ogunquit hotel. The guest never had to worry – Lauren covered each detail for him.

Tori was cleaning a room at our Maine hotel and noticed their igloo cooler was leaking all over the guest table.  She cleaned up the melted ice and grabbed and extra bath mat to place under the cooler to make sure that nearby belongings stayed dry. Just another example of how an eye for detail can help make a vacation at our Ogunquit hotel go smoothly.

Whitney was in the hallway when a guest approached her and mentioned that she didn’t sleep well due to the pillows on her bed.  Knowing the quality of our pillows is excellent – We inspect daily and replace as needed - but that personal preferencse might change a guest need, she asked what it was that the guest disliked.  The guest explained that they are too fluffy and that she preferred flat pillows. Whitney happily retreived two flat pillows to make that guest comfortable and help her enjoy her stay in our Ogunquit accommodations.
