Labor Day was yet another interesting weekend in Ogunquit, Maine with Bob Marley kicking off the holiday with his hilarious performance at Jonathan’s Restaurant on Thursday night. Friday we were pleased to welcome guests from all over the country as they gathered for a seaside wedding. Fortunately the weather was almost as beautiful as the bride.
The Ogunquit Playhouse finished up with Mary Poppins on Saturday which had been the talk around town since opening night July 30th. We heard so many people comment that it was better than Broadway. The Ogunquit Museum of American Art completed the exhibition of Richard Brown Lethem: Figure Abstraction on Sunday afternoon, a wonderful show of emotional consciousness connecting with the visceral form. The arts were everywhere!
As we say good-bye to summer and the wonderful events it brought in 2014, we are pleased to welcome September and autumn. We can't wait to experience the marvels Fall will bring! New performances at Jonathan’s, new Shows at the Playhouse, new exhibits at the Art Museum and so much more!
There is no better way to celebrate the holiday than a vacation to Ogunquit. This past weekend we were excited to welcome new guests, returning guests and wedding guests to our Maine Resort! As usual our staff was happy to take care and share memories this Holiday Weekend!
For example, Celia was met in the hallway by a guest who had stepped in some gum outside. The guest asked if she had a rag or something that would help get it off her shoe. Celia grabbed some goo-gone (magical stuff!) and a few other helpful tools and removed the gum for the guest.
As always our front desk team went out of their way ensuring our guests found the perfect spot for dinner whether they were looking for a romantic evening at the Old Village Inn, breathtaking views at MC Perkins or a farm to table experience at Frankie and Jonnies. One of our employees even helped secure last minute transportation for a guest to catch his flight at Boston’s Logan Airport. She called a cab to pick him up and provided schedules along costs of C & J bus lines and the Amtrak.
