Ogunquit's Green Hotel
Our hotel has always been envisioned as a place to experience warm Maine hospitality. As far back as 1983, the Meadowmere Resort has been welcoming visitors and providing accommodations in the heart of Ogunquit.
In 2006, Meadowmere Resort became Ogunquit's first certified Eco Friendly Maine hotel. Taking good care of the environment seemed like a natural extension of taking good care of our guests. To be honest, our first try at certification didn't make the cut - We were missing opportunities to be better stewards of our community. So our team rolled up its sleeves and in three monthes, became certified.
Now, the Meadowmere Resort remains committed to being an Eco Friendly Maine Resort and to the resources so important to Ogunquit. Our hotel continues to take part in the Green Lodging Certification Program that is administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and is recognized as a Platinum Green Leader by Trip Advisor.
The Meadowmere Resort is part of Energy Star's Small Business Partnership program, the Best Green Hotels and was the first hotel in Maine to join the Global Soap Project. Our Eco Friendly hotel has received numerous awards, including the Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence and Trip Advisor's Platinum Certification, for our environmental practices. We regularly host Eco Tours for guests and businesses and actively look to promote green efforts both at our hotel and in our community.

"I am so impressed also by Meadowmere's environmental policies. I am a regulatory official working on green energy policy for the State of New Jersey. Like Maine, we are promoting energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy. I am pleased that businesses like yours are doing this. You are an example to many others. Thank you." - Peg
